Search engine optimization, or SEO, is considered by many to be a very advanced, complex and scary subject. How to be better at SEO? Read books? Try methods? All these things are true. It earns some people millions of dollars through their page ranking #1 overnight. It also loses other people’s money they thought they had because a Google search algorithm changed and put them in an unfavorable position. Why do we consider this science to be advanced, complex or scary? For the same reason that math or language is considered such. Because it’s a cohesive system that has to be learned and interpreted on a human level for each individual person, as every person learns differently.
Some who achieve success through SEO tried to get their results, as in, actually put in “SEO work” and labeled it that way in their heads. They tried to find out how to be better at SEO, they’re aware of what SEO is, and what the search algorithm is, and the entire school of thought behind optimizing your site to a piece of software (Google’s Algorithm) that is trying to determine your legitimacy based on your alphanumeric or Cartesian standings within the goings-on of social media – BUT a good amount of independent business professionals don’t even know when they’re doing SEO on their own business, name or brand. How can this happen; how can people rank on Google without even knowing what SEO means? This axiomatically must happen, since there are more possible search results in Google than people that are SEOs in the world.
Some people achieve success in SEO and have no idea what it is. This is because of a specific occurrence within search engine operations. Google’s algorithm is designed to be a metric that measures the levels of relevancy for web pages based around a topic. So, for instance, if someone happens to pick profitable keywords by dumb luck for their business. For example: “Cleveland Car Sales” – if that was hypothetically their best keyword (as in, the keyword that has the most searches per month occurring actively), but the owner didn’t know it, yet they still built their site around the term “Cleveland car sales”. In this case, perhaps they have an exact match domain or a partial match domain (a huge advantage with ranking for a targeted keyword), and they manage their Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc., and engage with their audience while they’re there – these are all metrics that Google follows very closely in 2016 when it comes to search engine optimization, and can allow the layman who is trying to promote his business organically to easily and possibly unknowingly outrank the traditional “backlink only” type of SEO practices being applied to websites and their campaigns. Of course, the best approach specifically here and how to be better at SEO in general in almost any case is to next marry these two schools of thought. What is the goal to make it simpler? Be natural but be enhanced. You should promote on relevant social networks and platforms knowing the second that you commit to those actions, – Google reads and interprets the message you’re saying individually, and they then all work together to index your “SEO score”. They all work towards your overall SEO efforts and give you the best genuine shot towards targeting and capturing your audience properly.
Social media marketing is objectively the wave of ‘the future’ of the web, or more accurately, the current zeitgeist as a whole. As technology drives the progressive new ways we conduct our day to day lives and the importance it plays in creating efficiency, this will be something that only grows and doesn’t necessarily shrink in its change and evolution. The good news is, it’s still profitable – of course. Maybe more so than ever since Social Media Sites now have the most weight in search engine algorithms and hold the most page rank authority over other older mediums or platforms for content building and backlink building. So, as you can easily see, this idea all harkens back to the concepts above, and that it’s possible to rank with JUST social media marketing strategies in a far more “natural” way.
It’s much easier to see how to be better at SEO if you have an idea of what you’re targeting, but even without that, I’m sure by now you can see how much results you can come across. A social media marketing strategy is an important pillar of any SEO plan. Any plan without one in 2019, with very few exceptions, will probably not succeed.
There are many reasons for this, for example, 71% of adults are using Facebook if on the internet. So if you’re not catering to a platform that 71% of people are using, on the internet, why should Google consider you for relevancy? The number for Twitter is probably similar too. To get better at SEO is pretty easy. If you consider what’s popular on the internet through social means, and then emulate what’s natural. Create a real content campaign on these sites and linking back to your normal site for some huge authority and social signals!
The best thing to do to rank a site(and how to get better at SEO), ultimately – for your BEST keywords – would be to look at who is ranking #1 for them now, and ask yourself why they’re ranking? Then find out! Is it because they’re a huge authority in the market? Are they ranking SOLELY because their page is optimized for the term and the domain is powerful? If so, why can’t you do the same with a more powerful domain and/or property to your site? Are they using special types of links? If so, you might want to find out a way to obtain these types of links, and if they’re too expensive, then maybe you want to move onto less competitive keywords. All fruitful search engine optimization campaigns will always come back to those exact things. Your target keywords, target audience, and how your competition stacks.
